                               OBJECTIVES
 
 
1.    Reformulate this list of objectives.
2.    Survey and report on usage and structure of existing computational
      lexica, formally presenting results summarized in Tucson, spring
      1990.
3.    Draft specifications for further work on computational lexica,
      including breakdown of work groups required, objectives for the
      work groups, and recommendations for work group heads and members.
      The responsibility of the work groups described should be to pro-
      pose recommended tags, tag descriptions and possibly DTD or DTD
      fragments for use in the interchange of computational lexica and
      similar data files.  They should also prepare several small exam-
      ples in which the viability of the interchange recommendations is
      demonstrated with respect to extracts from real data sets.

                             ADMINISTRATIVE
 
 
   Work group reports to Committee for Text Analysis and Interpretation.
Head of the work group is Robert Ingria.  The other members of the com-
mittee are James Pustejovsky and Susan Warwick.
 
   Funding is authorized for two meetings.

                               DEADLINES
 
 
   Reformulation of objectives (AI6 P1) is due 25 November 1990.  Draft
of report recommending objectives and deadlines for work groups (AI6 W2)
due 4 December 1990.  Full report (AI6 P2) for public release due 28
February 1991.
