Canonical References and Pointing in General Wind-up
Summary of where we are with Canonical References and pointing attributes.
Consensus is that papers be written up suggesting only XPointer (no ID/IDREF attribute), but with a paragraph or two in the issues document (sow02) pointing out that adding such an attribute(s) to the list of mutually exclusive pointing attributes would be quite easy to do.
On XInclude
FV discovered that there are still ambiguities [?...?] whenever we use a stand-off reference there should be a fallback. We agree that XInclude is probably going to require a fallback element, but we are going to have a TEI ‘xi fallback error’ element that will get passed to application. This element will have to be a valid child of every TEI (content) element, i.e. part of m.Incl.
We'll use the xpointer scheme.
Tests for TEI-conformance should be applied after XInclude processing.
On New XPointer Schemes
Agreed that it is outside the scope of a TEI WG to suggest new schemes to W3C, even merely as a note. However, we will suggest that Council do so [Note: In what document?].
On Media Types
CC has made little progress so far. Hope for some progress this weekend. No real chance for a polished document, but a rough draft before next call is a possibility.
Deliverable Review
- sow01 DD plans to fold this document into sow02, so it is eliminated
- sow02 [Note: not commented on during call?]
- sow03 woefully behind, but since it's mostly deletions not as hard as it might be
- sow04 CC is going to try to write rough draft of notes this weekend
- sow05 is deferred, but JC will produce an outline by next week
- sow06 FV to fold recent decisions into his Jan 15 draft
- sow07 done
- sow08 all but done, but to be folded into sow03 anyway
- sow09 deferred [?...?]
Appendix A:
Wrapped up at ~15:03. Next call next week, same time [?...?]
