  • XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes Second Editionに ある標準形式で示された日付．例えば， yyyy-mm-dd, yyyy, --mm, ---dd, yyyy-mm, --mm-dd など．
  • XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes Second Editionに ある標準形式で示された時間．例えば， hh:mm:ss．
  • XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes Second Editionに ある標準形式で示された日付と時間．例えば， yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss．

属性whenの値は，日付や時間またはその組み合わを， XML Schema Part 2: Datatypesに従って示される． 当該日付の値が，グレゴリオ暦またはそれ以前の前グレゴリオ暦シス テムの場合に真となる．
