- Membership Drive:
- JC has still not finished the report on the survey that he did. (Marking…) It is mostly as you would expect, however some summary information is:
- On the question of how much for an individual membership the respondents said:
- $100 (35.3%), $50 (29.4%), $75 (19.1%), $25 (8.8%), Nothing, I would never join (4.4%), $200 (1.5%), $250 (1.5%), $10 (0%), $150 (0%)
- On the question of group memberships, 50% of respondents preferred that you would get a benefit of 10% extra members in your bundle (So the cost of 5 memberships get you 1 extra member; at 25-member level you get 3 extra members, at the 50-member level you get 5 extra members)
- The respondents were strongly against actively maintaining a Twitter/X profile (other than to stop someone else using the name), the Facebook group was deemed ‘Unnecessary’.
- Guidelines, Stylesheets, Roma, TEIGarage, and other work of the TEI-C Technical Council were all viewed by a strong majority as ‘Crucial’.
- Conference, jTEI, and similar endeavours were also mostly viewed as ‘Crucial’, TEI-C Community Calls as ‘Desirable’.
- Desired Membership Benefits include: Consulting, More support, Larger or more software discounts, Other forms of discounts (like DH conference), More community benefits, Greater recognition for TEI-C contributions (like submitting/commenting issues, not just github commits). Many felt the current benefits were sufficient.
- Respondents felt most of the suggested membership drive activities were good/great ideas. There were a variety of other free-text suggestions for membership drives or other ways to make money that I’ve not summarised yet.
- On the question of how much for an individual membership the respondents said:
