The TEIViewer: Layering XML, XSL, CSS and jQuery
(Stephanie Schlitz, Garrick Bodine)
The purpose of this presentation is to describe and to demonstrate our ongoing work on the TEIViewer: a simple, JavaScript-driven, portable display tool designed to facilitate the online representation of and interaction with elements and attributes described within modules of the TEI P5 Guidelines which have been encoded as layers of data and metadata in TEI-XML documents. Our poster will describe the TEIViewer’s functionality: a tripartite system comprised of
- the source layer encoded in XML;
- the display layer generated via XSL;
- 3) the interactive layer powered by jQuery and CSS.
And it will describe how the tool can be implemented by TEI-conformant projects.
